When the initial idea was proposed and we had voted on the final idea, we looked through several film and certain elements and scenes from these films influenced our final product. Most if the ideas were war based films because they were the most relevant to our media product. One scene which influenced our opening scene was from Saving Private Ryan. The scene focuses on the eye then transitions to the next scene which is in the past. We modifies this idea and applied it to our piece. The camera focuses on the eye then transitions to the past scene.
We was also influenced by the wide shot seen in American Sniper, it establishes the location to the audience. This influenced us thus we applied a wide shot at the end of the film
American Sniper also influenced the aiming scene, We chose to copy this scene almost exactly because we thought it would work in our piece. The camera would be at a side angle and be at a close up while the character aims down the scope
We was also influenced by Lawrence of Arabia's use of props, the props and costumes were fitting for the time period and it makes the audience believe they are watching something from the past
